The Devil is in the Dealer Detail !

Purchasing a vehicle is usually the second highest financial committment you make, after your mortgage.  Therefore it is vital that you make the correct decision to give you the best financial outcome.

Whilst buying my own cars I found out how complicated PCP deals really were and the multitude of financial levers that dealers or finance agents have in taking your money from the financial component of the transaction.

You will hear salesmen say to you ....

"What is your monthly budget"

"I have some cheap PCP finance deals"

"I can make the numbers work for you"

"Tell me your monthly budget and I will get you the car you want"

Aren't these salesmen absolute heroes? 'NOT!

...What they are really doing is working out how they can maximise their profit.

The have many ways of taking your money,

Flexing the interest rate

Miles Per Annum

Baloon value

Guaranteed minimum future value

Residual

Monthly payment

Initial payment

Number of months

Service plans

Dealer deposit

Trade in Value

They can manipulate these figures in many many ways to always ensure you get a car for your monthly budget - Great !! NO Actually NOT...

By manipulating any one of these variables in any number of ways you can end up paying an enormouns amount of money which was not very apparent when you were falling in love with your new car.

During a recent car search,  I was finding finance deals which for a simillar term, car and monthly payment,  I could be paying in excess of £7000 difference by the end of the PCP finance term.

Therefore I decided to build this site with parallel calculators, so that you can enter the details of different offers and evaluate to TOTAL FINANCIAL COST OF OWNERSHIP of your new vehicle BEFORE you buy it.

I think that is fair.

Now,  I am not a fiancial advisor and would always advise anyone to take independent financial advice and I take no liablility for any decisions you may make, based on the use of this site.  Saying this I hope you find it a useful tool as a starting point to help you evaluate deals which are givent to you by a Dealer.
